Our lot, like most piggies, absolutely love fresh grass, but with all this dry hot weather we're having, there's not much of it left and our lawn is completely dead! 😥

I often go out into the countryside and pick them a big bag of grass which I keep in the fridge and this usually lasts a few days, then I go and get some more, but nice fresh grass is getting so hard to find. I find grass is great to give them because they can have as much as they will eat, it's free, and they adore it....So, what I am going to do now? 😕

We can't even hose our lawn as we live in a housing association property and the taps aren't stupid and a hose won't fit on them!

Just give extra hay.

Mine normally graze on the lawn pretty much dawn til dusk (weather and heat permitting) but my lawn is brown and straggly as well now so they’re are still going out when they can but have hay in the run rather than grass

Ok, I think they do prefer grass but extra hay in their run, it will have to be.

I think they get a bit bored of their hay all the time that's why they love getting fresh grass so much, but it can't really be helped at the minute.

I also think they get bored in their run because it isn't really that big and we have to separate half of it because Bramble lives as a neighbour to Leo and Rusty, so we can't put them all into the run together. I do like putting them outside though if only to give them a break from being stuck in their cage all the time, so will continue to do so. We are planning on getting them a slightly bigger run though, as soon as funds allow.

Our grass has been mown once this year. Half by machine & between our 2 piggies getting regular deliveries & 2visiting piggies who have been for 2 holidays.
Then the heat & we don’t water the grass.
So yes, ours is dry and very dead looking too. The boys are still begging for grass- their grass delivery slowly got smaller until I decided at the weekend, it wasn’t worth it anymore.

(We have to separate our run too- it’s a rectangular shape, I just cable tie CC grids across the middle & the boys get a square each. )

You're in the North West where there's been lots of rain. There hasn't been any here, in the SW, for ages! 😕
Northwest Leicestershire, which is the Midlands still. My part of the midlands has been dry too for weeks, we had a little rain overnight late last week, no more, I think Leicestershire has been similar. Forecast says 28 degrees again today 🥵
My lawn is brown, the long grass in the orchard is green at the top as it grew all winter but brown underneath.
