The baby monitor thing is an excellent idea! :o -c

Yes it is so difficult when they are upstairs to spend time like I did in the kitchen - I used to be able to watch them when I was cleaning and cooking. :(

Is there no way you can move anything around so that they can be in the kitchen and it not look so untidy?

You sound like you miss them terribly :( Maybe you can arrange something so they can still be in the kitchen?

I'm going to cry :( you seem so sad. There must be something you can do to make this better for you.

I would love for them to be in the conservatory but the temperature changes are ridiculous. With the size of the cage, I can't really have it anywhere other than where it originally was.

However, I must think of them. It can't be a fun life running for cover everytime someone pops in to make a brew etc...

A baby monitor would be fab for the veg chopping, do you think they would know what it was through the monitor?! :(|)

I just need to get into a routine. I have now taken my dog on full time from him being at my mums so I need to juggle my time between them and my hammy, and my fish...:x

I will get there...the room really is lovely and to be honest, after last summer and our fly infestation, they would have had to go out of the kitchen anyway at some point. :(

Plus, there is a baby gate on that door so we can keep my BF's friends' naughty dog away when it comes again. It always scares them and I keep telling them not to bring him! grrrr

My pigs don't run for cover, they like people and attention. Perhaps if visitors gave them a treat each time they arrived your pig's shyness wouls go away.

I'm planning fleece and a hay loft and hope that my own pigs will be tidy as my cage is in the living room.

Kitchen Piggies

We have our three in the kitchen and I totally understand where you're coming from. They are always kicking sawdust and hay out of their cage and then we walk it through into the lounge. Nightmare. I've now decided to buy them the cube system and use vetbed. Just waiting for it to come now. Hopefully, it will solve the urine smell too. I clean them out every day and it stills smells. Not the best smell in the kitchen! We very nearly moved them outside, because we were so worried about the smell and the mess. However, they are still indoors and I'm just hoping the vetbed will solve the problem!
