the most awful horrendous saddest thing has just happened 8...
i was putting the piggies in the kids playhouse so they could get some grass (it has no bottom on it) and i safely shut the door etc turned round to get there tunnel from the hutch and heard the loudest squeak iv ever heard, turned round to see my cat (ben) running off with Rory in his mouth :0! so i ran after him shouting and screaming grrrr but he ran into the laundry room through the cat flap and by the time i ran round the house to get to the laundry room rory was dead .... 8...8...8...

RIP Rory 8...

I am soooo sad! Poor Rory - and what a shock for you!

he jumped in the window of the playhouse, i was certain he couldnt get out of the house though, apparently i was wrong 8... i feel so awful, the kids dont know yet either :s

Aww its not your fault, it must of happened really quickly! Sending big hugs x

Keep the others somewhere dark and quiet, so they can get over the shock. Preferably where they feel safest and can hide.

BAD KITTY! RIP little one. I guess you have some cat proofing to do now :( So sorry to hear about your loss. Maybe we can help give you ideas on how to block it so Kitty can't get them again? Post some picture of the playhouse. I'm sure we can help!

thanks guys yes bad kitty indeed i normally keep him indoors while the piggiesr out playing, i just wasnt quick enough this time :s

Oh my goodness,i'm so sorry. Sleep tight Rory, popcorn free. XxxXxxXxx *hugs* to you sweetheart. XxxXxxXxx

Poor Rory. With luck, it was so quick it won't stress out the other two too much. Oh dear, just when things are going along ok something like this happens. RIP little Rory.

oh thats so sad

my lilly been in my cats mouth once she still allive and she was preagant to lol my mum was there to sort that out

now i dont open know cages or runs wiht piggies in them when my cat is around i shout for mt to come and move up away most of them he wouldnt be able to pick up anyways as there are full grown big fat piggies

even if my mum is holding one and he comes in the room i pick them up staight away before he jumps up on her knee

dont turst cats with anything that moves my cat is lovely tho lol

Aww, I've had nightmares about my dog getting mine, but the real thing... :(

Best wishes for recovering from the trauma. :rose:

so sorry to hear that! 8...
hope * r ok.. just told my bf cos he is always saying i have to be careful with my harley-blue (my cat) around the piggies and bunnies.. will def do so now!
he has tried to get the baby bunnies :(
xx thinking of * xx

how sad thinking of you and the rest of the piggies xoxo not the big bad cat:p just be careful now because he will be thinking easy target after that but on the cats defence its just instinct for them to do that :( well my daughter left piggies hutch door slightly open last night never notice til 11 pm good job i did cause hate to think what would of happened

Our dog Bertie finds our Gp's very interesting to watch & if we put the Gp's in their run we have to lock Bertie in the house as he is a terrier.

Imagine my horror when I found out that our 16mth old daughter can open the hutch's & calls Bertie to have a look. Bertie's version of looking is sticking his head in the hutch.

The annoying thing is our daughter is not even after the GP's but their toys lolol I have to have eyes & ears everywhere.

I'm so sorry this has happened,i can understand how you feel though

My 3 year old daughter Ava opened my backdoor and let my bully x inside Ava then went into the piggy room and opened the cage ,this was all in the time i was putting a load of washing on,
needless to say by the time i heard the Pepsi crying and had run out it was too late,my dog is the most gentle boy i have ever met and still to this day i cannot believe it happened,i now have locks on my doors to prevent this ever happening again.
I am so sorry this had to happen to you as well its one of the worst things that can be experienced with pets xxxxxxRIP Roryxxxxxx

Aaarrrrgghhhh stupid cat! Oh you poor thing, what a shock! And poor little Rory, that's such an awful way to die :( This is why I dislike cats :'( Good luck, hope you feel better soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

It's nature though, animals will be exactly what they are programmed to do. We have an adopted cat who comes in called Poppy she is our neighbours Carol and Paddy's cat she is a gorgeous Tortoise colour. But give her an inch with the pigs and she'd take a mile.

I'm not a cat fan either in all honesty my Nan had one at it was a pesky thing! I do like Lions though!

I think this serves as a warning to just be more aware, animals can turn its nobodies fault its just, as I say, nature.

i completely agree, all animals are just trying to keep there natural spot in the food chain,my boy certainly didnt think what he did was wrong he even cuddled me as if to say "whats the matter mum" its just the way nature works even if it does upset us when accidents happen x

I know it's nature and I think cats are nice animals but for me personally the risk does not outweigh the gain. Sorry this has happened :(

sorry about poor rory, we have 4 cats and my piggies are always in an enclosed run on the lawn, thinking of you.:(
