In my block of flats all the front doors to the flats are being replaced. Mine is being done tomorrow morning but today they are doing my next door neighbour's. They started work at 8am. And the noise! I've been sitting with Toffee and Biscuit and thought they'd be terrified, but they don't seem to be all that worried - Came out for their veggies as normal and now calmly getting on with munching their hay. To be honest it's bothering me more than them.

I have to go out a bit later and although they seem fine I'm going to be worried about them all morning.

Try not to worry. If they aren’t bothered now then they aren’t likely to be bothered later - as if anything they will get used to hearing it

Honestly the guinea pigs always surprised me when it came to noise.
Dropping the car keys or the alarm on my phone got a ridiculous over reaction, whereas major drilling work right outside the house got barley a glance.

Mine are the same! As you know, they live in my shed - loud lawn mower (only heard in summer), or hedge trimmer (couple of times a year) and they aren’t bothered not even for the first time of the year. Cleaned out shed at the weekend, accidentally dropped the lid off a small plastic container and they both freaked out!

They are funny about noise aren't they. I get grumbled at when I use the phone, every little beep as I press a button is a threat. Openreach using a very noisy angle grinder cutting the tarmac right outside the house, not a whisker twitched!
