We have 2 young females that were adopted & we want to change the bedding & have seen everyone using noodle mats. Are they safe if chewed as our females are so destructive & have chewed their house this is what they've done.

Our local supermarket Asda have noodle mats in various colours would they be ok with towels underneath then washed every 2/3 days with non bio non scented liquid & distilled white vinegar?

Many thanks

I have a couple of couple of noodle mats and they are great, I think you would have to try them and see if your piggies would chew them as all piggies are different. Teo of mine are chewers but prefer a hay cube or carrot cottage.

:agr: Try a couple and see.

My two have had a good chew at their hutch, all wooden hides, will gladly destroy a carrot cottage! I only use fleece for part of the year but they’ve have never tried to chew it. Although I did decide to give a piece of vetbed a go again on their shed floor last week and Dex then sat pulling at it, he stopped reasonably quickly when he realised it wasnt actually quite as tasty as it looked!

I have a chewer but he's never bothered with the noodle mats. He'll happily chomp on wood, fleece, cardboard, plastic and puppy pads but the mats have stayed nibble free so far.

I've got some of the Asda mats and I use them on top of my fleece, which then has a mattress protector underneath it.

I have cut some in half as they're a bit big for the space I wanted them in...they're a bit tricky to get through a sewing machine but I got there in the end.

I use the ikea bath mats.. they work well for me.. Best to try and see how you go on...
