Hi everyone, I was wondering if someone could tell me whether this is normal boar bonding behaviour?

We introduced two of our boars into a cage cleaned with vinegar and water this morning, around 11am. There's been quite a lot of humping and chasing but I've only heard very mild teeth chattering twice. My partner is concerned that they're not getting along, but I think their behaviour is quite mild compared to other boars I've had in th past.

My partner and I are supposed to be going out for a meal tonight and will be out all afternoon tomorrow. With the behaviour they are demonstrating in the links below, do you think they will be safe to leave unsupervised? I think it will be counterproductive to separate them and try and start the process again.

I have also included a couple of videos of how they are with each other when they're not chasing and humping, I have also seen them napping quite happily relatively close together.

All that is normal one of them will be dominant, but I'd say everything's looking good. Just keep an eye on them & separate them if they any blood. MAKE SURE they have a couple of hiddies in there with 2 entrances so one can't trap the other. Plenty of things in there so they don't get bored, hopefully then the will concentrate on the toys.

Personally I think that is very much par for the course. Stick it out!

Bonding can be a hairy experience for the uninitiated! If you separate them they will have to go back to square one again and they might decide they don't like each other. If they have been sleeping together and waking up and all is fine I would stick with it. It all looks calm enough. I've done one bonding session before and it was a lot more scary than that. I had wee spraying lots of teeth chattering and loads of humping but eventually everybody decided who would be top pig.
