My 6 month old, Elliot has lived with 4 month old Oscar for a few months now. They are snuggly pigs and there is a bit of rumblestrutting from Oscar, but it has appeared that Elliot is 'top pig'!

There is some low-level bullying from Elliot to Oscar. Examples are then when Oscar tries to eat out of the same bowl as Elliot, Elliot will nudge Oscars head out the way. They do have two of everything, two bowls and two water bottles, but sometimes they do go to the same bowl. When eating hay, they are fine eating from the same hay stack. Oscar seems happy and popcorns and comes to greet me and the boys can lie close together and not fight, but is it normal for the boss pig to boss around the more submissive one? I always thought that with Oscars rumblestrutting, that he would be the boss!

That behaviour is perfectly normal with all piggies (you should see my Tribe at crunchies time, even with one bowl per piggy!).

Oscar may have the hormones, but Elliot has age and size on his side.

Thanks Wiebke, I do worry over the silly little things but it's nice to know that it's all normal :)

All my boys do this, my first pair were pretty rough with eachother when they were hormonal youngsters :)) They would kick, hump, nudge and even nip. All normal and although they still sometimes get cross with eachother they are best buds xoxo

Here they are

P.s the smaller one is the boss. Just shows its not always about size. Dougal is small but very solid and determined, Teddy is a chunky monkey and too lazy to care :(|)

Very lovely boy piggies! They don't look as though they are ever grumpy...
Glad to know there is hope and that boys can get on better once over the teenage hormone bit:)
