Can baby guinea pigs grow rapidly within the first twelve weeks of being born to the point where they are roughly the same size as one year old guinea pigs or not? My two new boars who I got yesterday afternoon are meant to be around eight to twelve weeks old but they are roughly the same size as, Gustav, who is over one year old. I would estimate them to be around six months or slightly younger and neither of them fit in one hand which I expected them to.IMG_20170420_155259.webp IMG_20170420_155411.webp

My piggy Mo was supposedly 7 weeks when we got him but he was a big boy so I think he was older then I was told.

Our current baby pig is about 12 or 13 weeks old and definitely not the size of our full-grown guinea pig. I have found most of my pigs have maxed our their growth around 9 months of age or so, so if they are full-size I would expect them to be 6 months at the very least, particularly as you say they haven't got those little sharp, pointy baby nails anymore.
