the guinea pigs have been iching alot the last few days so on saturday i dripped them with flea stuff but hopefully there shampoo will come today but can i wash them today or should i wait untill tomorro?

Not sure what products you are using, but often the advice given is to leave 48 hours between different treatments/products to avoid interraction. Check out the info leaflets of both products. Hope you can get rid of your pigs little unwanted friends. xx

Make sure that the product you have been using contains ivermectin and is specifically for small animals. Guinea pigs don't have flies!

If in the slightest of doubts, have them seen by a vet for a proper diagnosis and the right treatment. Mange mites can kill in a slow, horribly painful way if not treated right.

Here is information about mites and how to treat them: http://www.guinealynx.info/mites.html

i used xenex ultra stop on, and i thought they had fleas as my cat had fleas so he might have passed it on, i did wash them and they dont seem to be iching as much but should i take them to the vet tomorro, but i do already have ivermectin should i give that to them now?

when did you last treat them with ivermec? was it when you had them off me?

if so you could treat them with ivermec again you can use the ivemec with the xenex x

I think Xenex spot on contains permethrin. You may well need ivermectin, but I would not give one drug so soon after another without taking vet advice. xx

yes it was when i first got them, so i will give or should i wait until they are dry, what if they do have mites, and what if they have had them for a long time 8...

Sorry Claire, I think we replied at the same time. If you know those two are fine together, that's ok, I wasn't sure. x

Parasites are species specific - cat's flies can't survive on guinea pigs, as little as on humans!

If your guinea pigs itch, they have guinea pig specific parasites, most likely mange mites which you can't see from the naked eye.

Please have your piggies seen by a vet before you try any more treatments to make sure that you treat them right!

i am so confused, should i give it to them now or when they are dry, and should i take them to the vet tomorro before giving it to them or will they be fine if i give it to them without the vet:{ luckly i got £90 for xmas so i can deffiently afford the bills guess i am going to have to wait for my new phone lol
