Hi there,

Currently in process of mixing nuggets. Using the Burgess Excel Mint at the moment but looking to mix/switch to science selective grain free due to the increased fibre and decreased calcium content (massive thank you to the Nugget Comparison Chart!)

Just to clarify, which one exactly is the science selective?

Is it this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/Supreme-Sc...WW46JM775WF5&refRID=YD05JHEBWW46JM775WF5&th=1

this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/Supreme-Se...inea+pig&qid=1609279082&s=pet-supplies&sr=1-2

or this one Selective Naturals Guinea Pig Grain Free

Thank you everyone

The ones in the second and third link are the grain free. The first one is not
I fell for that and bought the first one😢 I now have basically a massive bag of wasted pellets. Luckily I mix them with my rabbits food as a bit of extra calcium doesn’t hurt him. Bellamy also has a few from time to time. I’ve just bought the actual grain free bag and they’re a completely different shaped pellet and smaller bag.

:agr: I switched my lot over to grain free to try to help with bladder issues (as part of a multi pronged approach). They do seem to enjoy the grain free ones.

I really don't like the science selective grain free. As i lost Frankie to bladder stones a couple of months after switching and i just don't trust it now. He never had a problem previously. 💔😭

That's really interesting! I'm picking them up tomorrow as well! Its surprising to hear because they have one of the lowest calcium numbers in the nuggets available! Very sorry to hear about Frankie, stones have always been an ongoing challenge in my experience

I don't know what it is but they didn't agree with any of mine at the time (urinary issues developed). I use burgess blackcurrant and oregano now (different piggies) and have had no problems at all. I think its to do with the calcium phosphorus ratio.
