I went out to buy Nugget's for the other piggies in my life and came home with a big Nugget! He was gorgeous, a silver agouti aby cross all my favourites rolled into one. I hadn't intended to have anymore piggies but Caspy was on his own. I thought I would try to bond them and if unsuccessful they could live side by side. They stayed together for 10 months until Nugget tried to take over dominance, he was a big boar, eventually growing to 1.5 kilos in his prime. Caspy always struggled to maintain a kilo but he wouldn't give up his role as boss pig without a fight!

Weight not long after coming home. In the bonding pen with Caspy.

Nugget loved being in the garden in the summer and the garden coming to him if he couldn't be outside.
My boars all had a respiratory infection in October, Nugget got over it quicker than the other's but suffered bloat and stasis, we assumed due to the Baytril. He picked up after 10 days and all seemed to be well. 3 weeks ago he suffered bloat again and was slower to improve although this week his weight had gone up and the vet and I were hoping he was getting better. It was a massive shock to discover he had passed in his cage late yesterday afternoon. Last January he had a grease gland tumour removed and it may be cancer had spread internally, he was due to have a scan tomorrow if he hadn't improved further over the weekend.

He got a bit big for that box!
Missing you precious boy. You left us far too soon.
