Hi everyone, I have read a lot of topic but my doubts are always here and therefore I would like to ask you.
I have two piggies, both have bladder problems, one had a bladder stone and from that moment I changed their diet.
I was giving to them 'Bunny nature guine pig dream basic', which is low in calcium but is no longer available on zooplus and elsewhere are really expensive.

I had thought of giving them 'Science selective grain free', but there are those who say that they are good for a low-calcium diet and those who say no.
Do you think I can give them these nuggets for their diet?
Or if you know any other types just tell me :)

(sorry if I made any mistakes, I'm not English ^^)

Most owners who are seeking to avoid stones and urinary issues are using grain free pellets. I use the Science selective grain free ones you mention as do many other keepers on here.
But in addition to grain free pellets, which are only a small part of the diet it’s best to filter the drinking water and also feed low calcium veggies
Here is our useful guide which covers a low calcium diet Long Term Balanced General And Special Needs Guinea Pig Diets

Thank you! :D
They drink a good water and eat low-calcium vegetables.
My only doubt was if it is a good choice to change the nuggets in 'science selective' instead of 'Bunny nature' 😊

I now use Science Selective Grain Free nuggets and strictly adhere to one tablespoon per day per piggy since losing a piggy to bladder stones recently. They have lots of hay to eat too and some veggies in the evening.

Thanks for the answer Betsy.

Looking at the chart I don't see huge differences,
Bunny Dream Basic
Protein 13, Fibre 21, Fat 2,5 , Calcium 0,9, Phosphorus 0,4

Science Selective
Protein 16, Fibre 20, Fat 4, Calcium 0.6 ,Phosphorus 0,5

I think I will try to switch to Science Selcetive grain free by giving it in small amounts, hoping that they will be good for their diet 😊
