Vet has prescribed 1/4 of a capsule of Nutracys daily for my guinea pig Zoonie. It's apparently a similar product to Cystease/Cystaid, has anyone heard of it/used it?! Also could anyone suggest how to give it to Zoonie? She doesn't tend to take medicine very easily!

It is a new product to me, but it is also glucosamine based. Here is some info I did fnd when I googled: http://www.nutravet.co.uk/nutracys

Open the capsule and dissolve it in 1-2ml of water in a very small vet or pharmacy bottle. Shake well before use and keep the suspension in the fridge! Syringe 0.25 - 0.5 ml daily (1/4 of the amount you have prepared). That is the best way of making sure that you get the exact doses in.

It's new to me too. I would be very interested to hear your thoughts on it as I have my own bladder piggy on a daily dose of Cystophan (similar to Cystaid/Cystease)

Midge has been on nutracys + for the past 6 months. The + I think is tryptophan which reduces stress and calms the animal. She was recently on 1/2 cap daily. I used to divide the capsule and mix 1/2 into a small amount of baby food. The other half would be wrapped in paper till it was used the following day. She has now been upped to 1 capsule a day which I mix with water.

Thankyou for the advice guys! Going to get her started on it tomorrow morning, will keep you updated :)
