Dear Guinea pig forum,

I have been using this site for well over a decade now and I just wanted to thank each and everyone of the wonderful staff, donators and kind piggie enthusiasts who’ve responded to me and other people queries on her for gosh knows how many years.

I’ve owned 8 piggies now and I cannot express how much this forum has made a difference to their lives, from Pablo losing the function of his back legs and you guys helping my find a proper exotic vet (Rob, who I’ve now been going to for years and have developed a wonderful friendship) and extended his life by 2+ years after being told he’d have to be put down at the end of the week. Or reading up about URI’s and calming my nerves about the dreaded hooting of a pig getting hay dust stuck in its nose.

I come here whenever I need help or reassurance and everyone on here is quick to respond and so helpful, the best part is there’s no fluffing, if the forum recognises your pet may be ill, it’s always, go to a vet immediately, not here’s some herbs and ooh have you tried xyz. That’s the kick up the behind you need sometimes to act instantly and save your pigs lives.

I haven’t been active on my account in a while, but trust me I’m lurking in the shadows and reading threads always.

I am infinitely grateful to this wonderful site and incredible community, I don’t know what I’d do without it. If anyone has any donate links or any ways I can help contribute please let me know!

Thank you again,

Susie

What an absolutely lovely post. Thank you for taking the time to write and post it.
This Forum is one of the most wonderfully supportive communities I’ve ever been part of. My own piggies over the years have all benefited from the sensible helpful advice and I’ve benefited from the support of the piggy slaves. It’s members that keep forums like this one alive, so it’s a thank you to you, and everyone else who keeps posting.

I'd just like to say I agree. I've only been a member for just over 2 years and I don't post very often, but I've learned so much! I'd never had guinea pigs before I adopted Biscuit and Toffee and although I did a lot of research and thought I knew all I needed to know, I soon found I didn't, and the forum has been so much help. And everyone here seems so nice :luv:

(Without the Forum I would probably still be feeding them 50g pellets each every day like it says on the packet, and giving them cabbage every day - like I was advised to at Pets At Home!)

Hi Susie

Thank you so much! Posts like yours make not just our day but our month!

We give a lot of our own free time or late nights that we often would rather spend with our own piggies or asleep in order to help with an emergency or crisis on the forum. It is great to see it appreciated and not just taken for granted.

It takes a lot of work behind the scenes and a strong belief in what we are providing to keep this a lively, friendly and supportive community - much more than any of the other kind of communities who are usually the result of a lack of decisive leadership with others taking over the vacuum. Thankfully, we now have enough regularly active members to carry our forum ethos on a daily basis and put into practical use but we are always happy about anybody who would like to join and participate without any fear of laying themselves open. After all, it's our members that make the forum the special place it is and whose posts keep it going.

For donations please contact admin: Forum-technical-assistance or pm @BossHogg .

Here’s some pics of my pigs I hope you’ll all enjoy! They’re health issues are being handled so much easier thanks to you guys! (Mouse is the Smooth, Beatrice is the Peru and Meep is our little Teddy, well I say little, like most teddies she is absolutely enormous!)

I’m the same, I am so grateful to the forum and TEAS and furthermore finding a marvellous vet who gave my Ted an extra 2.5 years plus of a happy life when we thought we were going to lose him 👍 I would never use any other social media site for info, why would I 😆

I completely agree with every word. I absolutely know my pigs have been happier, healthier and have had longer lives because of the information I have found here. And it's so lovely to be part of a whole comminity where people just understand!

I agree also - this forum
makes me happy
makes me smile
makes me laugh
makes me learn sooooo much,
makes me feel informed
makes me feel ‘part of ‘ a friendly group
and makes me cry sometimes
it’s the only social media I bother with
A huge thank you to all the wonderful moderators/staff members that are always there ….I/we appreciate you all❤️
