I have been feeding my girls Burgess excel since day 1 but over the last few days they haven't really been eating it. They still eat their hay and veggies but almost completely ignore the pellets. Any thoughts?

Hi,

I also feed mine burgess excel, and they went off it a little so I mixed in some of the burgess blackcurrant and oregano pellets and they love them!:))

My piggies get fed up of the same thing every day so I keep selection of pellets and give them what they fancy each day.

I have literally just been told by my vet that pellets are unnecessary and piggies don't really need them if they get plenty of fresh veggies - I was going to post a query to everyone about this but this post seems an even better place to start.

My boys also eat Burgess Excel pellets. They've never had a real problem with them because we've tried to mix in biscuit treats, dried carrot treats and even yoghurt treats. This has led to Caramel weighing 1kg at 6 months old which my vet says is overweight.

I'm just thinking, can we all be wrong? Should our piggies be eating pellets at all?
