i don't seem to have much luck with bonding. I put a boar Chester 5 months in with my 2 sows 18 /20months. The sows are even tempered the boar is a little rascal. Granted they have only been together for about 8/9 days. But it's not right. The girls have become very forward & have chased him & given him several nips. Also Chesters character has changed. He seems to be constantly moving around, when he sleeps he gets himself into a place with 1 eye open, that hopefully he won't get picked on. But all the chasing around the cage having fun & coming up to the front of the cage for a tickle & chatter has gone.
Advice needed please.
 
You are still in the dominance phase; it generally eases up afterwards, but if you are not happy, do a trial separation by splitting up the cage. If Chester is doing his best to get back to the girls, you have your answer. If he is not interested and perking up noticeably then you know that it's not worked out.
 
I've increased the size of the cage & now Chester is popcorning around, so he's happy.
BUT he is also going around chining the girls & rumbling & nipping the bums.Help?

Also I've put my boys in together, 1 is neutered 1 is not but I wouldn't of thought that wouldn't make any difference. At the moment they are in a run together. They have had 3/4 fights they didn't seem 2 bad, although I haven't looked, because I didn't want to intervene in a possible bond. They were over in seconds. They seem to be playing who's boss, I am, no I am. It's like kids, lol. They also have chinned, circled & rumbled. Although they have slept in different houses & will eat if they are not to close. Double help??
Let me know if the best action is sit on the floor with a bottle of brandy!
 
The bottom thread is redundant the little have had a massive fight, seeing as how they went for each other I'm surprised that more damage wasn't done.

I'm confused over what pigs are where.

Chester was in with two girls. Now he's out with another boy? Or another boy added into Chester and two girls? Or are we talking about different bonding attempts?
 
No no I have 3 boars Gizmo, Chester & Logan. Gizmo & Chester are neutered, Logan isn't. The idea was to put Chester in with the girls & Gizmo & Logan as a boar group.
Chester has gone with the girls, but it's quite a fragile bond.
Gizmo & Logan are a fail they hate each other. Lol
 
Ah ok, I got a bit confused there. Have you separated Gizmo and Logan now? How are their wounds?
