Apparently fine at veggie time. Kids report no fuss. She lifts up her head for a nugget and I see blood.

It's really deep and about 1.5 cm long. My friend who is a (not piggy savvy) vet has just taken her away. He's going to take a look. Anywhere else would have been a clear job for sutures but it's not a good place to stitch so he might glue her. I think it needs closing as hay will be permanently in it.

Ugh. Poor girl. Feeling nervous about her going with a not savvy vet but I panicked and sent a pic for advice and he came straight round for her.
 
Poor little lass! It's great you noticed so quickly and that she's getting it seen to. Are her and Timmy still reluctant buddies?

They’ve been getting on normally since that funny little period a few months ago. They aren’t snugglers but they rub along happily enough. The kids were in the room and they heard no scuffle and to be honest it is just too neat and tidy for it to be a fight injury. It’s sliced, I just can’t work out from what.
 
Good to hear they are back to normal. It is an odd injury to be sure, I wonder if a twig or similar in the hay pierced her lip and she slit it by trying to get it out? Or perhaps a "paper-cut" type thing on correx if its accessible to them?

They can’t get at the correx. Top suspect are the bulldog clips holding down the fleece but I’ve never seen them touch them. Unless as you say it was something in the hay.
