The description is quite disturbing also...

"She would of ended up going down the throat of a reptile if i hadn't rescued her and preserved her beauty forever."

Well how kind of you....NOT

Edit...I just took a look at some of the other things the person has for sale, seems a bit unhinged to me

Taxidermy doesn't bother me really - looks like the taxidermist bought some snake food (ie, already humanely killed) guinea pig and stuffed it a little inaccuratly. After all, who has ever seen a guinea do that sort of pose or have the big fluffy cheeks!?

Although why she included the white rabbit skin in her post is odd. Maybe she layered it?

Sorry, you probably aren't looking for this sort of post in reponse! But then I'm not grossed out by this sort of thing.

My thoughts exactly!!

thats not the sort of rescue i think were used to on this forum!

Yes it might have already been 'humanely killed' but a lot of reptile owners prefer live ones to be fed. Without asking we don't know.

Anyway if you don't find it disturbing fair enough, but it freaks me out loads just urgh is all I gotta say. Each to their own hey, it is a weird and disturbing world.

He or She (I think a she having had a gander at the lingerie they are selling) seems to like 'saving animals from reptiles' as she also has a stuffed rat dressed as dracula for sale.

Before this arguement goes any further - it is actually illegal for someone to feed a living vertebrate as food. So if it was sold as snake food, it's extremely likely it was already dead. In addition, I know many snake owners and they prefer to feed frozen prekilled food - as there is less risk of damage and infestation by parasties to their snake from feeding frozen.

And as this sort of topic (ie snake food) always causes great contention on this board for obvious reasons, and I see this one heading the same way. :S

ETA: Actually what I find more disturbing is she seems to be selling lingere that has already been worn. Blergh!

sorry i did not look further into what she was selling! but used underwear is gross!

I'm not grossed out either, a little =S just because it's so odd and I don't get why people would want their dead animal sitting around the house. Really, would you enjoy having your mom sitting on the sofa after she died? I think not!

I find it quite sad, not the reptiles bit but the being stuffed and put on a mantlepiece bit!

I would be heartbroken to have to look at a dead guinea day in and day out!

I really don't understand the whole having your pets stuffed never mind just buying a random animal you didn't even know when it was alive!

It would be a conversation starter wouldn't it...

'Do you like my dead stuffed dracula rat...'

:))

:(|):(|):(|)

Taxidermy isn't my thing either & i do find that rather unappealing but it'd be a boring world if we all liked the same :)

Stuff like this just weirds me out.

I can handle it in museums, just about but generally I find it creepy.
I think it's different when it's for the benefit of history or something but why would you have something like that in your house?

My Nan had a few stuffed Owls in her house...They just used to stare at you...Really creepy.

Taxidermy in general does not bother me(not in my house mind!) it was the scary pose the wording that made me feel ill!

eeew i once saw a taxidermy ed (sp) guinea pig hairband the wonders of the 't'internet eh?! i once said to my mum that when i die i want to be stuffed and sat on the sofa i was about 8 though:red

It was scary enough when my ex bf mother had a 2.5 ft doll that she used to move round the house can't remember the name but that was weird too

Why on earth would you want a dead guinea pig on a hairband now that is just plain insane surely?

when i was about 10 my old friend's next door neighbour had loads of stuffed animals I personally dont like them - they freak me out.

Each to their own...

Personally I can't stand it. Especially the idea of a much loved pet being stuffed and kept!
