I had some spare fleece cut outs that were a perfect material for a foraging mat as they were ready frilled. I'm constantly trying to come up with new ideas to keep the pigs happy while separated as we are still counting the days until Ohmi's six weeks post neuter. Ohmi seemed to appreciate my effort, here's some pics of his first encounter with the mat :) I also got a video, I'll see if I can upload it to somewhere to be able to show that too!

Hmm, do I smell some coriander?

Yess, coriander and carrots! What a lucky day!

What a great idea, I might have to try that!
Thank you! The mat was really easy to make, it really is worth the effort! I just sewed the frilled strips side by side onto a piece of fleece that became the bottom side of the mat.

What a great idea.
Ohmi looked as if he was really enjoying it.
I loved when he really put his heart into digging it as you can see at the end of the video.

I couldn't make that me and the sewing machine fell out years ago! It's a shame cos my late Mum and the sewing machine were best mates! :lol!:

I'm not much of a sewstress myself either, but this was simple enough as I only needed to sew straight stich with the machine :) I really did like sewing at school when it was a subject, but that was 15 years ago! It's a shame there's no teacher anymore telling me what to do as I was pretty good at following instructions at least! :)) I'm actually using my late mom's sewing machine, I think the machine is older than me!

I just love everything about this. Reducing waste, upcycling off it’s of fleece, designing & creating new entertainment, enrichment for Ohmi. Well done. Lucky lad. Looks like he appreciates your efforts.

Thank you Vicki, what a lovely point of view! Your message makes my silly little mat sound greater than I thought :) But it's true, I didn't want to throw those fleece cut outs away and I'm glad I remembered seeing something similar on sale so I thought of trying to make one myself. So I can't take credit on the idea of the mat, but this particular design is mine ;) And I'm so glad that Ohmi seems to like it! I have to let Faradi try it next.
