I had my two guinea brothers, 4 years old and sadly one passed away a few months ago so I got the remaining boar neutered with the intention of getting him boar dated with one or two females. I then fell for two gorgeous baby girls and adopted them with the intention of either bonding them with Dennis or if they didn't get on keeping them separate and still getting Dennis a female friend. I introduced them once Dennis was safe to have floor time with them and I heard him wheek and squeek fort he first time since his brother passed away! Betty and Wilma aren't bothered by him and dart around exploring but he can't get enough of them and constantly chases them like a drunken lad at a night club., he leaves his scent pooping all around them and sniffs their bottoms continuously. I still house them separately just in case... A week ago I rescued a baby boar whom I have called tango. He is extremely submissive and terrified of everything. He is only 8 weeks and I did a little dance of glee yesterday when he very quietly chirped for the first time when we were having our daily cuddle. So....I introduced to Dennis to see how they got on as I thought changing the plan slightly so that Dennis and tango would live together until tango is old enough to be neutered and then the girls and boys can all live together. Dennis and tango immediately got on well, after 10mins on a towel in the bath they were both laid in a cozy nest in the middle! However there was no wheeking and squeeking like there was from Dennis with the girls. I have done research into it since and I've read that two boars are not able to live with groups of girls as they will fight? I'd like to have a plan of what to do so I'm doing the best for them from the start so does anyone have any advice on how to have their living arrangements? I'd appreciate anyone's thoughts as I can't stop thinking about all the possibilities lol! At present tango is by himself in an indoor cage in my house, Dennis is in a huge hutch by himself in the shed and the girls are in their own hutch in the shed.

i wouldn't put two boys together with females. From reading the forum it very rarely works. Even putting boys in the shed with the girls seperate could cause problems if the boys smell them. Someone with more experience than me culd maybe come up with a solution

I would keep the two boys together. Tango will hit the big hormones at some point in the not too far future and then you will know whether they really get on. If they don't, have Tango neutered as well and then have each boar living with one of the girls.

Two boars and two girls together are generally NOT a good idea.

Thank you both for replying, you have confirmed what I suspected so will keep tango with Dennis and as soon as he is old enough get him neutered too and see how we go, if we need to pair them off with the girls then so be it...it's a shame even neutered boys can fall out when there are girlies around! I'm so used to caring for hounds that I presumed neutered guineas would behave the same :-/ oh well! They will be moved into the house over winter so I can keep the girlies out of sight until after tangos hit the big hormones so fingers crossed they are still besties afterwards!
Thanks again! :-)
