But following the heatwave fiasco in June which left our piggy population with only foster piggies and a solo house pig that we submitted into the foster group as a result.

It was decided that there will be no more piggies in our home, no personaly owned ones and no more fosters once the current foster piggies have gone to their forever homes. Some of the fosters finally found homes and were picked up today leaving us with just 3.

It has been decided that the rats will continue to be part of our lives but I just can't deal with one more piggy death be it from age or illness of just bad luck, owned or even fostered it is too heart breaking. Maybe again one day in the future after moving to a home less effected by heatwaves but for now, no.

I suppose that makes my presence on the forum a little redundant now once the last fosters are gone. But as I adore this community so much I am happy to stick around if your happy for me to remain.

@Squeakz I know you've had a really tough time recently and am so sorry for your losses. And I know the heartbreak we feel at losing piggies (whether our own or fosters - they all sneak into your heart). I can understand your decision not to replace the piggies and hope that one day you will feel able to return to piggy slavery but that time is not now.
We would miss you terribly if you left us. There's no requirement to have piggies to be a member here, and I hope that you will stick around and enjoy the piggy photo spam and piggy based banter with us. You also have so much experience you can share with others. Please don't vanish. Huge hugs xx

I'm really sorry you had to go through so many losses... :hug:It's really sad that these beautiful and gentle animals are so fragile.

But like PiggyOwner and Vicki said, you can stay because having piggies is not a a must to be part of the forum. I myself don't have piggies anymore, but my love for them is the same and the people in here is amazing, so I can't see myself leaving the forum (although I haven't been that active lately, but it's not because I don't have piggies).

This is such a fab forum. I suspect it's amazing community is what helped it to survive the Facebook revolution.

I may have to post the occasional rat pic from time to time though!

I think that's the reason too!
And please, do share some ratties pics!
