First hello I haven't posted on here for years and am pleased to tell you my boys are now five years old and going strong!

Clive has been seen by the vet ( a very experienced exotics vet) due to eye issues.

He had a hay poke injury over a year ago, was given meds and all was fine (just for background)

Probably since then the white milky stuff that all guineas get is much more prominent. We see it a few times a day. It sticks to his under eye hair and we wash it off but the fur comes with it.
It's now a little bald patch.

He is totally well in himself, no different at all. He has been to the vet at least twice since then for monitoring and the vet assures us his eye is fine.

Does anyone here have experience of this? Should we stop wiping the crusty bits off so his hair stays put?

I sort of feel like it might be an old age thing bit I don't know.

We're going to take him back to the vet in the next fortnight for a triple check so any info would help

Thanks so much

Hope everyone's pigs are well

It could be that the tear duct has got a bit blocked. if necessary, just gently wipe the cleaning fluid off with a bit of damp cotton wool.
