Lez

I'm visiting my family again, and went in to ceck up on tat garden centre i mentioned last week

OMG it was worse! they are selling satins. and a little satin sow was on her own, in an even worse state than merlin was in when i got him. her ears are infested with really bad fungal, and her skin was so flakey!

i know some of you might not agree with this, but i had to get her out of there!

so now i have a little ivory satin sow sat on my lap, no older than 6 weeks old, munching on some babycorn.

i wont be keeping her, my friend who was with me last time i went to this place insisted i get her, so she could take her in.

i am going to contact the rspca asap. this poor little girl can be my proof of that horrible place!

also her breathing is very loud. i am going to get her iin at the vet asap tomorrow i cant today as I'm stuck at my familys, but ill do the est i can for her until then. luckily my mum has some GG in so ill start treatment straight away!

Lez you're a sweetheart! I don't care what people say if a pig is in a situation where it is unwell then you get them out of there! Good luck with her! :smitten:

I would take some photographic evidence of the mess she is in so you can show the RSPCA.
She could have a slight respritory infection if the conditions was bad, but I could not say for sure, just keep her well fed and happy until you can get her to the vets.

i am taking photos as we speak. with me being at my familys house until tomorrow morning, she is staying in a pet carrier i ought for her so she wouldnt have to be in a cardboard box. I'm going to get her in at the vets as soon as i can tomorrow when I'm back in derby, or even on the way back, and ill take my friend who is keeping her to get a cage from P@H

she is a bit crackly at times, and seems to be breathing pretty fast.

I'm going to do the best i can for her tonight

the good news is if she recovers well, me and my friend are living together next year, so we have considered the possible pairing of her and merlin once he is neutered

i completely agree :)

i really hope she gets better soon :smitten:

That was very good and brave of you. I hope she makes a full recovery. I hope the place gets stopped from selling animals :(

Hope she gets better soon xx
Aww! Tell her I say hii! ;D
Pictures when shes better! :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
GOOD LUCK! :)

Lez you could present proof to your county councils licensing department maybe get their license to sell pets revoked O0

i will need to find out which council to call as the boarders are wierd round here, I'm not sure if it would be south yorkshire or nottinghamshire

i have a few pics but she is so terrified its difficult to get clear ones of her ears

That was really nice of you to take her home! Hope she gets better soon. I would definitely be contacting the RSPCA and the Council.

thanks for the support everyone.

i have syringe fed her some water. in the shop there were no water bottles at all, she seems very dehydrated, and her poos arent right at all. they are hamster sized poos.

she went mad for the water poor littl girl.

i dont have a spare water bottle, so I'm going to offer her water often so she is getting plenty, and will give her some in a bowl while i sleep tonight.

ive just settld her down in the pet carrier, with loads of hay to snuggle in, and a bowl with food, and a bit of veg washed really well. tomorrow when i get back to derby were going to nip and get her a cage from P@H

hello, have no idea what the rspca are like in the UK but here in australia i wouldn't waste the time reporting it. i think you might have better luck with the council. good luck with her, and you're an angel for rescuing her from that place! :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: why do these places even sell animals if they know nothing about them or don't care about them? :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: would like to see the people of the place you rescued her from have sore ears and no water and what ever else is wrong with her. >:( >:( >:( makes me so damn mad i had better end this or i could get booted off! hoping she gets better and again good luck with her. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: hugs and cuddles and the girls send :-* :-* :-* perhaps a vet report would help when you go to complain as well as your friend and the photos. please let us know how you get on! damn people and animals(not you the place where the little lady was) :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff:

I completely agree with SAT if it was me I would of had to get her out of there as well, well done.

I hope her health improve's, bet she will be a stunner! x :smitten:

thankyou everyone :smitten: :smitten: she really is a stunning girlie. her ears are such a mess poor thing, but i think she is still so sweet

i have a few piccies, ill post them up when I'm back in derby, as my usb cable is there.

my friend who is having her has had piggies before, but in a few months we will be living together anyway, so she may end up as merlins girlfriend

ive just had her out again, and she has had more water, and a little more veg. I'm just giving her little bits of veg as i dont want to upset her stomach

Oh you are an absolute 100 percent STAR.

I hope she gets a clear bill of health from the vet. You will probably have to push very hard with the RSPCA and council but dont let them put you off.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Oh what are you going to call her?

i will do, i intend to get a letter from the vet as proof if she does have a respitory infection. even if not, ill get one for her skin as proof, every evidence i can get will help! My friend who is having her will back me up at rspca too as she was there last week when i went to the place and saw what it was like.

i have no idea of a name yet. i am waiting and letting my friend name her, since she will be taking her in

Aw well done, the poor little piglet! I hope she gets better soon, I totally understand why you had to take her, bit like our Huxley but she sounds in a worse state. Poor little baby.

her skin is as bad as merlins was except hers is mainly her ears, belly and head, whereas merlins was his back. they both came from the same place too :( so they obviously dont care

whats more worrying is, they seem like the kind of place with the attitude that if it is ill just leave it to die, thats how it seems to me. if they get an ill animal they just put it on its own and leave it, even still on sale, with no vet treatment :tickedoff:

i know i was really torn what to do. i left the shop and called my friend. and she said if i got the poor thing out of there she would have her so i went back in bought a pet carrier and brought her out with me

it was so upsetting to see her there she looked so ill and sad :'( :'(

Well done Lez thank god she is with you now on the road to feeling much better and a lovely new life with your friend and eventually the gorgeous Merlin :smitten:

Well done, you O0 I would do the same. We have to rescue them :smitten:

Lez you darling heart :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
I totally agree with everyone if you'd left her ................ :'( :'( :'(
and you tell those lousy sods off and make sure you report them to everyone :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff:

awwwwwwww so maybe Merl's wife to be :smitten:

Awwwww poor little piggy! I am really glad you got her out of there, I would have done the same! :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Definately report that damn place, this should not happen again to another poor piggy!

how is she today? did you get a cage for her and set her up at your cousins after a vet visit? sending hugs and cuddles to you and the little mite :smitten: :smitten: and the girls send :-* :-* :-* and hoping that shop gets told it can't sell pets anymore, the things should not have to suffer through igorance or lack of caring :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: please keep us updated on her progress. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

she went to the vets this morning, she has a chest infection, mites, and fungal on her ears. she has had treatment for mites, and is on antibiotics for her chest infection, and the vet wants her to have vitamin c supplements for a little while to try and perk her up after her dredful start to life.

we went and got her a rabbit 100 from P@H and she is now all set up and settling at my friends house. in 2 days she will be properly treated for her fungal. and I'm going to hunt out my lavender and myrr lotion tonight for her ears

she is eating and drinking very well though :)
