woke up this morning to my 1 and a half year old piggy making these sounds when she was breathing for about an hour
she’s since stopped but should i be concerned?
one of her eyes are also a bit cloudy

We can’t diagnose online so please get your piggy checked by a vet. Eye injuries can deteriorate quickly if not treated in time. And that breathing doesn’t sound normal either.

Let us know what the vet says.

it doesn’t look like an injury, was probably just the lighting because it wasn’t really noticeable. i haven’t heard her breathe like that again today either so maybe was just a one off? it’s a long weekend here so probably won’t be able to get an appointment until tuesday. even if i don’t hear her making that sound again i think i might take her in for a check up anyway and show the vet the video. the only other problem she has is she’s quite a big girl (1308g down from 1345g 11 days ago)

Any eye cloudiness needs to be checked - cloudiness can often be an ulcer forming

That amount of weight loss isn’t significant on its own - a 30g fluctuation is perfectly normal and can be the difference between a full/empty bladder or tummy. Do continue to monitor her weight and if losses continue more than the fluctuation allowance, then step in with syringe feeding and see a vet.

not worried about the weight loss, all my girls have lost a bit just because i’ve cut down on their pellets a bit because of they were gaining too much so it wouldn’t be because of any health issues. i’ll try calling the vet later. thank you :)

Hope you managed to get an appointment. pellets Should be a tablespoon a day per piggy. They’re like the junk food of piggy world. And heft is the best way to check size.
