Hi all my friend has asked me to post this..

Helen (kidsgrovecavymad) is on holiday with her family down south, Helen had such sad phone call this morning off her friend who is looking after helens guineas while she and her family are away,the phone call was to say toffee Helen's 5yr old rescue spayed sow was found collapsed, with blue lips, she was rushed the vets where it was found she had heart failure, sadly toffee had to be put to sleep this morning..

Helen and her family not to mention toffees boar-friend are all broken hearted at the loss of toffee..:08...

Run free Toffee at rainbow bridge, you were very much loved and will be so very much missed little one xxxxx
 
I'm very sorry to hear this. Sleep well beautiful girl and know that you will be sadly missed..Hugs to Helen. It must have been very difficult to take in this sad news when away from home...
 
I am so sorry - it is so tough not to be able to be there with Toffee! And also so hard for her poor friend...

ohh I'm sure it is really hard on helen, she only lost sweetpea 3 wks ago due to antibiotic toxcity after she has an abscess, and the week before that jessica my rescue guinea who had the big bowel hernia died, then 4 wks or so before that her boar died after problems under GA while he was been neutered:( now this:{:(
 
So sorry to hear about poor Toffee. Very sad.

You're really having a tough time of it, you poor thing. I'm glad that you have your faith to help you through, somewhat, but I understand that it's still really difficult. Toffee was obviously a special piggy and much loved x

Thank you all for your kind wishes.It was a shock and awful for my friend having to rush her to the vets but my vet is very good and made the decision for her.Toffee came to us in May last year from the RNGP in rugby she had been handed in at age 4 ! with her sister.Her sister passed away and toffee came to us.She moved in with Gregory my first rehomed boar.They were inseparable and greg was found cuddled up to toffee as she lay dieing.
But i guess thats what rescue and rehome is all about,toffee was treated like a princess for the last twelve months and has passed over to rainbow bridge from her forever home.Greg is fine now he was taken to my other guinea pig friends after toffees death and is living with Titch a 3 week old baby boar,i am going to bring him home in the morning as just got back from cornwall.I have to pick toffee up tomorrow from the vets so we can bury her at home in our memorial garden.

Just wanted to thank you for messages this picture is how i want to remember toffee eating and being with Greg.

And i want to share the good news that Greg has a new little friend called Titch he is 7 weeks old but very tiny :) Greg has really bonded with him and i fear will lick him away with grooming ! which i have not seen other boars do.
They are very contented and i know TOFFEE will be looking down happy.

RIP Toffee run free at the bridge little lady, popcorn in the lush fields and enjoy munching on dandelions and clover, Greg and mummy will sadly miss you but NEVER forget you xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
