Oops! Moonpig bit the vet!

Went to the exotic vets for the first time today, took all four for a check up. The vet decided to investigate a little lump Moonpig has under her arm so stuck a needle in etc etc Moonpig DID NOT appreciate this, she didn't just nip, she drew blood. :red

Mind you, must happen a lot as she already had a plaster on her finger!:p

I mentioned the Potters Tabritis tablets ( recommended by Peter Gurney for oldies) and she hadn't heard of them, but as they're herbal didn't think there would be a problem trying them for easing arthritis ( all of my oldies bunny hop ).

And she called Yoshi fat! :o No, I said...he' just big-boned! inbreeding
 
Haha aww ...they don't half know how to show themselves up!

My Fudge ended up banned from going to the pet shop who trimmed rodents claws because he literally had all of there fingers off! Yet he was lovely & sweet normally! :))

I quite agree about Yoshi ...guineas are just designed to be cute, fat & cuddly! Nothing wrong with a bit of guinea fat :p
 
It sounds like an eventful trip!

Whereas my big bully Hywel was unable to keep his mouth shut the whole time I was in with the vet and was screaming his head off long before there even was a needle... rolleyes

One of my first piggies was a biter, so not unexpectedly, I ended up holding her whenever we needed to see the vet (which was sadly a lot - she was a bladder stone piggy)!
 
It really annoys me the way some vets are always saying guinea pigs are overweight. They clearly do not know about piggies.

She managed to give me a couple of good nips too but not before she'd given the vet a proper bite..hmmmm...yes,I think it was at this point that the vet asked me to hold her....inbreeding

I hope they do, they're s'posed to be good with guinea pigs but yes, I do know what you mean. Thing is, Yoshi doesn't eat anymore than the other piggies and they're all fine weight-wise. I think he's just s'posed to be a roly-poly cuddly-wuddly tribble! :(|)

I have had the occasional overweight discussion with one and the other vet, too! mallethead
 
Wallace and Rocket got off light with a weigh-in, teeth check and stethoscope. Moonpig and Yoshi on the other hand both got needled and are now in a serious sulk with me. ")
 
:)):)) I think I'd want to bite if someone prodded me with a needle! When I had my rat, he did it to the vet too, he was dangling off his finger
 
Aw my Hector has been as good as gold for my vet Jenny. She has a soft spot for him as she's got a cat called Hector and because he's a "chunky boy" as she calls him. He happily lays on his back (with me supporting his head) while she examins his abscess on his tummy. Can't say he's always as well behaved for me! He's got fed up of me giving him meds and flushing out his abscess. I realised it's been twice a day for a month so I'm not suprised he's had enough of being squeezed and poked. Very nearly cleared up now, fingers crossed for the all clear tomorrow.
 
Aww, poor Hector, he does sound like a well behaved boy. Hope he's all better soon. Yoshi was very well behaved, not a peep or a nibble out of him, just looked seriously pee'ed off with me around tea time - I think I'm forgiven now tho' as he let me give him a rumbly tickle and wanted me to tuck him up in the hayloft for the night. :)
