curious whos piggies like orange and should they be allowed them as an occasional treat. they are high in vit C rocky is the only one of my group that likes them the other 3 get offended by the smell
Archie likes them, but I think he's the only one of my 6. Lexi will eat them, but she doesn't like them like Archie does, and Freya turns her nose up. I don't give them often but I got some once and gave them (or rather Archie) a segment each day or 2. I wouldn't feed regularly though as they are quite acidic.
You can feed orange segments as an occasional treat. Be aware that fruit acid can cause sores in the mouth and on the lips and should not be fed too often (a bit fruit about every 2-3 days is OK). A diet that is too high in sugars can lead to diabetes in the long term.
You can also feed kiwi (if they like it), but with the same proviso.
I only give mine a small piece of fruit about once a week, usually apple or melon or something. Mine don't like orange anyway, but they can have it as a treat
