Junior Guinea Pig
I lost my first boy today. He had been unknowingly battling a tumor in his stomach for the past few months. It took me a long time to notice because he was a dental piggy, and the vet and I atributed his hard time eating to his constantly growing teeth.
Although I know I never stopped fighting for him, I also feel a lot of guilt for not noticing it before. It was beyond any treatment, and he was so weak, we decided to put him to sleep. I miss him dearly already. He fought hard til the very end.
I had already arranged new company for his brother - they lived side by side after falling down -, so he is doing fine. I'm the one trying to pick up my pieces now and move on. I've read the guides, and hopefully tomorrow it will hurt a bit less.
