well, i didnt realise there was another part to this forum for other pets, so il let you all in on a secret, i adore my aquatics i drive my family and friends nuts with my fish keeping!
i have 2 tanks right now, a 6ft long goldfish tank, and a 4ft long tropical community, both very well established, the goldfish tank for a couple of years and the tropical tank for around a year.
this is my 4ft tank, it measures 48" long, 20" wide, and is 28" tall. it houses mollies, guppies, platys, neon tetra, yoyo loaches, cory catfish,a female pearl gourami, a red tail black shark and a male bristlenose plec. some live plants some fake, and lots of driftwood for the plec. am considering selling this set-up.
this is my 6ft goldfish tank, measures 72" long, 24" wide and 24" tall. i have all fancy goldfish except a single shubunkin goldfish which was a rescue from a far too small 2ft tank. the largest of my fancy goldfish in here was last measured at just over 9.5" long. sadly i recently lost my 8" black moor goldfish who you can see in this picture :0 the tank is slightly over stocked with 10 fancy goldfish and the shubunkin (must stop taking in little fish from tiny tanks!), but i run massive filtration via a fluval fx5 and 3 internal filters too, and i carry out weekly partial water changes of 30-50% to keep nitrates low.
i am very experienced with goldfish care, and know a fair amount about tropicals too. i am on a mission in life to help people realise just how large they grow and how much hard work it is to keep these big beautiful fish and help them to thrive x)
this is my 1st and 2nd largest goldfish, a big orange and white oranda. 8.5" when i last measured, and the top one was 9.5" the last time i measured. the smaller guy at the bottom is approx 5" long but he looks tiny in this pic,he is mostly tail and fins due to early stunting in a small tank before i got him.
