Here I am yet again to post that another one of our babies has passed on to the bridge. Carmy had lost a lot of weight after his brother died 6 months ago, and although we did find him a perfect new companion, Abraham, he went to forever sleep in my arms wrapped in his special blanket last night. He was seizing and yet didn't seem to be in any pain, and after about an hour, he took his last breaths and we buried him with his brothers. As usual, I feel like I didn't do enough. But I know we loved him beyond measure and will always carry him in our hearts.

Carmy Baby.webp Carmy just a month ago, after a full belly of red peppers and romaine. He was man enough for pink. :)

We will search for a new companion for Abraham, who was very upset at sniffing his body after he passed. Thank you for this forum, as it always brings me comfort and hope for those of us who adore these little, funny, amazing creatures.

I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful little guy. Try and take comfort that you were with him when he passed and he would have taken comfort in knowing his Mum was with him. Huge hugs to you x

Sleep well little one

RIP Caramel

I am so sorry that Caramel has left you to join his brother at the Rainbow Bridge. It is tough when you lose your piggies not long after each other.

All the best with finding a new mate for Abraham! I hope that Piggie Poo Rescue in Phoenix have a suitable companion for him.

Thanks for all of your kind words. We are coming up short in the hunt for a new buddy for Abe. Piggie Poo is relocating and they aren't accepting any new surrenders, and the only males they have are not suitable for him. I will keep looking. Abe seems to be doing fine - here he was just a minute ago. He always has a choken leg!

I am very sorry; there used to be another rescue in Phoenix, but that seems to have closed down. Piggie Poo is the only remaining rescue in the state (and several surrounding states). :(

I am so sorry for your loss, heartbreaking when you lose them so close together. Hugs on there way.
He would of known you were there, & your voice would have comforted him.
Sleep Tight Caramel xx

We're taking a leap of faith at piggie love here - because Piggie Poo rescue doesn't have a rescue for us, we have decided to meet with a Craigslist "saver of guineas" in the Phoenix area and hope to bring home a forever love for Abe tomorrow. I am aware of all of the precautions and appreciate all of the advice. Please keep us in your thoughts as we prepare for Oscar, a beautiful crested boar who will hopefully be with us for many years. He also has 2 cage mates, so who knows what will happen? I just can't fathom not rescuing a piggie in need. So here we go... :luv:
