The vet seen lilee today she got very stressed and started biting everyone in sight and wouldnt let the vet take any blood, so we are not sure if shes pregnant or if she has ovarian cysts. Shes back to the vet next year to carry out more tests, if she is pregnant i dont want to be stressing her out whilst carrying.
The vet said i must get in contact with her last owners to find out if shes been next to any other male guinea pigs.
Does anyone own a piggy with ovarian cysts/ had them removed?
Pictures and information about how active they are/were and how much they ate/eat and drank/drink?
Main difference's between ovarian cysts and pregnancy?
Anything will be useful!

How old is Lilee? Ovarian cysts are much more common in older sows than in young ones under two years old.

A good way to monitor pregnancy and general health is to weigh your guinea pig weekly. Any weight gain over 30-50g in a week is suspect as pregnancy, especially if the weight gain continues to increase. Increased thirst is another sign of pregnancy.

Here is a link for more information on pregnancy and ovarian cysts. Hormonal treatment is now considered an alternative to a spaying operation in younger vets. I would strongly recommend pursuing the "softer options" to a risky operation. You can also do a search on earlier threads on those issues by using the search function on the top bar.

One of my first girls Lily suffered from ovarian cysts the only thing I noticed was wrong with her was that she was a bit grumpier than usual and liked to stay hidden in the corner under the hay. She was treated twice with medicine- sorry cant remember what but on the third attack it was advised that she had them removed. The operation was successful although the recovery from GA was a bit slow and she had an over night stay in hospital but once that was sorted she was like a new piggy. Although it a success I would still opt for easier treatments before going down the removal option.

Midge&Panda;
Was lily very fat do you have any photos? thanks :)

Lily wasnt particularly fat, she weighed about 1100g at her heaviest, her backend/hip area wasn't particularly large a little bit rounded but nothing to concern me in any way. Lily never had the hair loss that sometimes goes with cysts either. As for photos- sorry I have none before her op they were lost when we had trouble with the computer.

Umm :{
My girl is really fat and pretty "pear" in shape, i suppose time will tell. All she does it sleep and eat :(

Just re-read your first post I missed the bit about eating, She had to be 'prompted' to eat her veggies and salad, when she was poorly she never came running out for them I had to give them to her under the hay where she was hiding. Sorry I cant be more help its about 3 yrs ago when I had to deal with this.

I thought Bette was pregnant at first, she had a very full figure at 1195grams.

I found out when she was ill, She had an Ovarian Cyst and was told aslong as it wasn't bothering her to leave well enough alone. Which we did, I never even knew she had it. My vet felt it though palpitation.

One of my girls, Geri, has ovarian cysts, one on each ovary. She is very quiet compared to the others and is very chubby, around 1.2kg. She's gained a lot of the weight since i adopted her last jan, she was quite small when i first got her, about 900g if i remember right. The weight and her hiding a lot compared to the others is the only sign that she has them. She's otherwise healthy, always keen for her veggies and she purrs a lot ( not sure if that means anything apart from she likes being stroked) The only problem she has had from the cysts is that she had cystitis a couple of months back, possibly cused by having them. this cleared up after a course of baytril and the vet said to bring her back in only if she starts to develop hairloss or recurring cystitis for possible hyserectomy. I'm hoping it doesn't come to that and will look in to alternative treatments if that happens. Btw Geri is approx 4 years old. ( they said they thought she was 3 at the time of adoption in jan this year. :)

Ok when we were having a cuddle tonight, she went to the toilet on my arm and i just left her were she was as it hit the sofa and sleeve of my arm, she then went to the toilet again within the space of 5minutes and they were both big pee's.
Shes eatting like a horse and loves her veggies, they are getting 4-5 different fruit and vegetables per day. Shes very keen on her mixed food, I'm in the middle of changing them all over to pellets, and she loves her timothy hay.
She is very sleepy she likes to sleep on the hay and only lifts her head to eat it rather than standing. Shes not one edge like the others when i walk past she just watches by, when i pick her up she doesnt run away and when shes on the floor free running she just goes back into her pen.
Her shape is rather pear like and is wide on her back end and normal at her shoulders ect. When i got her i was told to "watch" her as shes aggressive to humans and other pigs, i have watched over them for the past 3 days and slept downstairs and shes been very good and quiet, shes great with me too shes the only piggy that enjoys a cuddle when in the pen.
I dont know if this is pregnant behavior or cysts behavior:{
