I have an elderly pig who no longer has much use of her back legs, vet fully aware (lots of visits & chats) & due to her age we've made the decision that as long as she's not in pain, eating, happy & I'm able to keep her clean then we'll leave her be & just treat any problems as they arise until that day I'm dreading comes.

Thankfully up to now we haven't had many problems, but I'm getting into a bit of a bedding issue - she's been on towels/fleece etc and is great during the day as she's trundling round but they just don't seem to be doing the job overnight anymore as when I put her to bed she doesn't move round much so it's a bit of a mess every morning.

I have read from posts of others more experienced than me that they've used loose bedding with success for keeping a not very mobile pig clean, so was wondering what would be the best bedding to try for her? Megazorb appears to be popular but I don't want to go out & buy a sack if it's not going to be suitable.

Any other advice about how to keep her happy would be gratefully appreciated too, it's a big learning curve and anything that can help me to help her would be great.

I have heard vet bed works really well for piggies who are not able to move themselves around much. You may like to give that a go.
