Oxbow hay..

I have been looking about at Oxbow hay regardless of if I can buy it or not ! I have noticed most websites only sell timothy hay now is this because it is the best, the nicest or best value.

I have also found the orchard grass hay but I do believe there is more! Can you tell me the one's you have tried, were you have got them from and how did the piggies like it?

i think the reason is that timothy hay is grown reguarly in the UK but oxbow orchard grass comes from US so maybe the conditions in UK arent suited to grow it therefore less availability

I have only tried pasture hay and oaten,and oxbow of course,the oxbow was costing me 15 pounds a day because of how expensive it is over here and my amount of pigs,mine are currently on oaten but they adored the oxbow orchard grass

I do know that orchard grass is great quality but ultimately timothy is also one of the best,the only issue with timothy is some people find there pigs dislike it

My lot have only tried Oxbow's Timothy Hay and Orchard Grass. Both were well liked, but the Orchard Grass was definatley the favourite (especially preferred by Willow who popcorns when she gets any )

I think Oxbow do Organic Meadow Hay, Alfalfa, Timothy and Orchard Grass.

Roger has tried the Timothy Hay and Orchard grass, Orchard grass won hands down. I intend to get him some Oraganic Meadow hay later on. Got mine from the hay experts.

My pigs have recenlty had oxbow hay, the timothy and the orchard grass. They do love the orchard grass and they like the timothy but i found that they prefer the alfalfa king timothy hay! As i put the oxbow in their trays and their is some alfalfa timothy left in their hay rack and they chose to eat that, they did eat the oxbow but seemed to like the alfalfa timothy! They dont normally use their hay rack that's why i thought they prefer it or because they only noticed it now i put it under their trays?mallethead

The hay experts website do most of the oxbow hays.
My bunny and my piggies have tried:
western timothy hay - the pigs love it;
orchard grass - the pigs and bunnies favourite;
oat hay - the pigs and bunnies not impressed, neither was I - not that I tasted it
Alfalfa hay - the pigs love it;
organic meadow hay - the pigs like it but not as much as the western timothy and orchard grass;
botanical hay - neither the pigs or bunny were that bothered;
oxbow do a brome hay i believe but we haven't tried it.
After trying all of these with our bunny and the pigs I will now just order a big bag of orchard grass and a big bag of western timothy hay for the bunny and the pigs
