I was surfing the new website and I came across the Pet Care section with all the different animals on.
Within the Guinea Pig section it has a bit called Bringing Your Guinea Pig Home, it rattles on about hutches and only once mentions indoor cages for during the winter time.

It mentions indoor cages on the leaflet you can download so why not the website? DO you think I should email them? and ask them to modify the page?

SHOCK HORROR!... quote from... http://www.petsathome.com/Advice/SmallPets/Guinea-pig/Socialising-and-training
We do not recommend that adult guinea pigs and rabbits are housed together.
Someone somewhere is drumming it into them!!

it should say no guinea pigs though not adult guinea pigs ::) atleast its an improvement :D

they donot recomend adult guinea pigs and rabbits together BUT do they have a policy of selling singles or to go with a rabbit ?

Interestingly they do now take your name and address if you buy an animal, and have a checklist of stuff you have to sign to say you've had the info from them, and also includes a bit to confirm you are going straight home i.e not going to leave new pig in the car. Which I guess is all good, although as we know, people are not always truthful!

Hopefully they are taking some comments on board.

Unfortunately this doesn't seem to mean anything. I've overheard more than once staff taking address details and ticking all the boxes on the form without bothering to ask questions of the new owners.

ive always thought it interesting that they took your name and address, but didn't do any kind of follow up. Is it a legal requirement or something?
Theres no harm in e-mailing them :P shy bairns get nowt

Come to think of it they have moved them to the old glass aviarys where the budgies used to be - not a very open space or am I being really thick here? 98)

The staff at my local are told not to sell female pigs alone, but they can with males. however they did tell me that they hardly ever sell singles. the policy on rabbits and pigs has been the same in my locals for well over a year now.
