Passing blood post spay

Just heard some funny noises coming from cameo, moved her and there's blood on the vet bed - not sure if she's got blood in her urine, or if she's actually bleeding, but it's quite concentrated :...

Anyway, we're off to see the vet for 7.30 - better get her boxed up :{

Argh stress headache!

Been to the vets (seen Leslie this time, who thinks that in his 30 year career, he's spayed 15 guinea pigs...1 every 2 years isn't bad!).

He's had a good old look, and thinks that its a urine infection, triggered by her immune system having taken a bash with the op.

So, some pain relief and antibiotics later, she's much brighter. I've been told to go back to syringe feeding so that she's getting as much moisture into her system as possible (she's eating, but only really eating leaves and hay, and she's not a big drinker), so she's sat here at the moment having some critical care and some cranberry juice - she's sitting here with her mouth open for it - another of my strange pigs who seems to love critical care!

If she's no better by tomorrow morning, she's to go straight back in - I've booked a 9.30 appointment just incase. Fingers crossed I won't need it!
 
Been syringe feeding since we got home, she's also had some cranberry juice, fibreplex and now munching on some lettuce! Think she's feeling much better after the pain relief :)

Oh poor Cameo :( It's a good job her mummy is giving her the best care. Lots of paws crossed for her and healing wheeks. Get well soon Cameo, your huspig needs you x>>
 
Oh no poor little baby. That is such bad luck for her. I really hope she will be okay soon. Where do you buy the cranberry juice from? All the ones I find have sugar in.

It's just normal cranberry juice, the sugars are largely natural and certainly better than ones with artificial sweeteners
 
She's staying in :(

They're gonna treat her for UTI and ileus, and keep her in overnight if necessary (mainly so I can sleep!)

She'll be in the best place, poor thing. Hope you get some good news during the day on her condition. What is Ileus?
 
Poor you and poor Cameo :(

Hope she gets better and can come home to you and her huspig very soon. Ginny and Saffy have their paws crossed and send her healing wheeks x>>
