is it possible that guinea pigs like different pea flakes and not others because i recently got the guineadad pea flakes and my guinea pigs will not touch them but i also got the wheeky pets pea flakes and my guinea pigs loved those but they where small i just do not want to go around and buy every single pea flake around. the picture with the penny is wheeky pets and the more green ones a guineadads

I’m not sure but I will say the ones with the penny look rather odd for pea flakes. One of boys took a month of trying to eventually like them, but it’s not the end of the world if they don’t like them!

Do you know I've never tried pea flakes but I'm going to have a look out for some because some pigs seem very keen.
I buy sugar-snap peas for people salads and have tried offering these... the piggies will nibble on the edge of the pod but leave the young peas so I never bothered with the pea flakes! Are they super nutritious or just a safe 'treat'?

Just a safe treat, to bed fed in moderation, our boys love them!

Given it should be an occasional treat, I wouldn’t worry too much if they don’t like a particular brand. But I agree the ones on the right do look odd.

I have had the ones on the right in the past and they do look odd. I’m not exactly sure why. Another thing that I disliked about the wheeky brand of pea flake is that there was not an ingredient list on the back. I could see if there was some funky preserving chemical that was causing the odd look. I have since switched to a brand with pea flakes more like the guinea dad ones. My guinea pigs also were particular at first but I broke them into smaller pieces like there last pea flakes and eventually they started accepting them. Pea flakes are one of the best non veg treats on the market, but they certainly aren’t a healthy food. I usally feed these on special occasions like the weekly weighings.

they are just i safe treat but i just felt like it was kinda odd like are the 2 companies using different peas or something

It may be a result of how they’re made.
