Good evening Guinea pig owners!

I was wondering which is better, science selective OR science selective grain free?
I saw that the grain free is more expensive but is it worth paying a couple pennies more or should I go with the normal science selective?

Thanks!

I think everyone will have their own personal preference based on things like availability, price, and the one their piggies will actually eat!

What do you currently feed?

I use grain free (not Science Selective though) becasue I read that it can help prevent flare ups in piggies with bladder issues.
Plus all of my lot like it, and it is easy to source locally.

We use Science Selective grain free, its the first pellet type we bought when we got our first 2 piggies and everypig eats it and it turns out it is a fairly healthy choice!
The grain free is timothy hay based so lower calcium and probably more aligned with a more natural diet.
But if you are feeding pellets as recommended, just a spoonful per piggy per day, and most of the diet is hay then veggies, then its really up to you and your piggies which pellet you all prefer :)

Thanks for the replies,

I am currently feeding regular science selective and the piggies a active and healthy! I just wanted to see what the difference is, thanks anyway!

The main difference I believe is the regular one is alfalfa based so potentially higher in calcium, than the grain free which is timothy based. Between the 2, I always buy the grain free to avoid irritating any bladders in adult piggies.
