Junior Guinea Pig
After a VERY long weekend of giving Critical Care, Penny finally seems to be improving. I noticed Friday night her poo's were a little abnormal and I figured the trip to the vet had stressed her out and that's why she didn't want to eat. By Saturday it was evident the antibiotic she was on were wreaking havoc on her gut but the vet had already closed for the weekend so Penny and I got to struggle through the Critical Care together. At first she loved taking it and I didn't have to hold her at all, but after a few doses she had decided she had had enough of the syringe feeding and Penny can be VERY stubborn when she wants to be mallethead After several different attempts (and a lot of mess!) I finally figured out a system that works for the both of us and she grudgingly took the Critical Care. Had a call into the vet on Monday for some probiotics but we got hit bad by some thunderstorms and the vet lost power so I couldn't get the probiotic until Tuesday evening, but it seems to already be working. She's been munching on some hay and just generally seems brighter and more alert so I'm hoping the worst is behind us now!
