I have just watched a video on youtube-sorry my pc wont let me do the link-made by Saskia,director from LA Guinea Pig Rescue in the US.She says she does not cut out the seeds from the peppers she feeds the piggies in her care.She doesn't know where the "myth"came from that you should cut them out.I always assumed there was something in the seeds that is toxic or not good for piggies or it is a choking hazard but she says this isn't the case and it is a waste of pepper to remove this part.
My piggies love pepper and I give it to them quite a lot having removed seeds etc.What do other people do?

I remove the seeds, but i guess if la rescue has had no problems, they must be ok

I just chop up pepper how I always have which leaves the stalk attached to the inners covered in seeds. I don't see that any pepper gets wasted. Sometimes half the pepper goes in my dinner and half in theirs so I'd always prepare it the same way

I've heard about them being a choke hazard, but I remember her saying that was a myth before, and since then I've made my peace with it. Some seeds eventually get stuck in the pieces I cut, but I don't mind them anymore. I just cut that part out because I myself am grossed out by it. 😛

(This is probably the video you're mentioning, by the way:
),

Yes that's the video.
Great hard working charity

Is it saying apple seeds are fine too? I personally wouldn't feed apple seeds due to them containing low levels of arsenic. It takes something like 40+ apples worth of seeds to kill an adult human through poisoning so I'm not sure how it would affect piggies

Yeah, that statement got me thinking. I wouldn't either, just to be safe.

No I wouldn't either.I wouldn't eat them and so I wouldn't give them to my piggies,I think Saskia said it would take a cupful to harm a piggy but none is your safest bet.

I wouldn't let my lot have apple seeds, they're pretty hard even without taking the arsenic into consideration, but I dont remove pepper seeds or celery strings, they're soft and edible. In fact the seeds are most of my lots favourite bits :)

I'm jealous she was waving her arms around and that piggy didn't flinch. If I blink mine run for the hills. Lol
