I got my new hutch today, and it came with loads of free guinea piggy stuff (hay, hay and more hay!), as well as a couple of bags of Pets At Home muesli and nuggets, which my piggies have never had.

They're not exactly picky eaters, but does anyone use this brand of food, and what do you make of it? I'm currently keeping them chubby with Wagg, but, hey, free food is free food!

I use the pellets as you can get it in 10kg bags and mine wont touch anything but - love the stuff

If they are eating all of the food you are currently giving them, I wouldn't change them as they can turn very picky, and lots of us have trouble getting piggies not to eat selectively. I know nuggets should be the answer but if they don't eat nuggets, it's no help. I personally don't like p@h meusli as the last time (ages ago) I saw it, there were flourescent green bits in! Don't want my piggies to glow in the dark. lol xx

The Pets at Home Muesli recipe has very very recently changed - it is now mostly made up of nuggets with other pieces in too. This is the very first food I've managed to find that ALL my pigs will eat (I have 25 so includes some picky eaters in there) and they look in much better condition for it. It's better than the old recipe. The nuggets are great too.

george loves the nuggets but tiger is not so keen think it depends on the piggie as they are separate now they have diff food (only cos both lots were free though)

Haha, I would quite like glow in the dark piggies, it would make finding them after floor time so much easier!

Maybe that's just me...

I've started mixing in some of the P@H muesli with their Wagg, just to sort of wean them onto it and see how it goes down, but so far they don't seem to notice the difference!

Bat girl,

The pellets are made by burgess and are by far the better to have than a muesli mix but piggies do not always want what is good for them:)

The problem with food colourings apart from not being natural is that some have been linked to bladder issues with piggies. Gerty Guinea especially.

so,the p@h nuggets are made by burgess?

Gizmo seems to be a picky eater, so I'm thinking he might be better off with nuggets to stop selective feeding.
The other two don't mind the muesli though, so close to reaching a compromise! Hehe.
