I would make a frame with welded mesh for the door then it could be left open when your in can be lockable too, it should open inward that way you can still use the shed door. For the windows nail welded mess to the insides and leave the windows open all summer. If you have power you could have a fan running. I always have ideasnewpiggies said:Sounds great! We are planning on replacing our shed and installing power and light - will be useful in the Winter when it gets dark early. I had wondered about setting up part of the shed to be open to them from the bottom level although would need to protect them from cats/predators given we are needing to open window and door fully in warm weather. We are considering whether to move the hutch outdoors into a shady area for the Summer, given how warm the shed gets but have very little shade in the garden so i expect they will probably be in their run in shade during the day and in the hutch at night when it cools down. We're still learning and trying things out.

newpiggies said:Love Beaney's setup! What do you do about warmer weather and do you have any problem with mice - ours are in the shed and I am always checking on them and improving ventilation but had wondered what it will be like in the full heat of Summer. They also go in a run for part of the day but only when I'm around.
