Ok so I'm in a right pickle at the moment! About a week ago, I noticed speckles was breathing a little heavier than usual, so I thought I'd bring him inside for a while and get him to the vets just in case he had a respiratory infection. Now, speckles and buttons lived together, but I left buttons in the shed instead of inside with speckles because biscuit (another pig) is currently living next door to them through a piece of mesh, so he still can communicate, but he lives on his own, so it made sense for biscuit and buttons to stay separate but in The shed together, and speckles inside with me while he gets better. BUT I quickly noticed veg not being eaten by speckles or buttons?! (Biscuit was fine) then speckles went to the vets and she said he had lost weight but only had minor respitory infection so prescribed some antibiotics.

The only thing I can think of why they suddenly have both stopped eating is because I have separated them?! Could there be any other reason? It seems strange that it happened soon as they got moved away from each other. So I've put speckles back outside in the shed with buttons.. and hoping that they will start eating again.

Anyone got any other ideas why they arent eaten as much? Both their poos are tear shaped and small, which I no indicates less food consumption.

Helppppp ;(

I'm not an expert but it could be that they are missing speckles. Is there anyway you could have them all inside just until speckles is better then move them back to the shed?

I haven't enough room, and because they are boars I wouldn't want them to fight, as they have loads of room in the shed, and would only have a cage if I brought them inside. The vet did say that speckles infection is very minor, and he is only on 0.1 septrim once a day, so I'm hoping he will be warm enough outside in a shed, he has heat pads, vet bed as flooring, and fleece cosy bedding! They are in hutches.. in the shed so they have blanket over the hutches also! x

The fact both where vet checked and only one was ill means the lack of appetite was probably because of seperation. However do keep weighing them both (or even all 3) daily to make sure everyone is eating well
Again. If anyone is losing weight, take them to the vet again x

Hi, I weighed the pigs togsay and they have stayed the same. However even though they are living back together again, their appetite is nothing compared to what it used to be ;( speckles was so greedy and run soon as he heard a packet! Today it was like he couldn't be bothered! I'm going to take both of them to the vets tomorrow, and have fed them critical care each (1syringe full) and put pro-biotic in their water just in case they have belly ache.. i don't no what it can be :( it's so strange that both of them are the same! Although buttons never was a massive eater, he too is acting completely out of character.

Strangely they both are being very clingy of each other too?! Which they never were before, you would see them each together but they never shared a bed, today all they have done is sleep together! As much as it's cute, it's worrying me so much because I don't no what's going on ;( ;(

To make it worse this was their poops today!! Not good!
