I’ve seen lots of posts about piggies eating plastic, and while mine have had a bit of a bin bag here and there. Today they really shocked me!
Do you think they will be okay after ingesting this as well as a bit of bin bag that was attached. They’ve got extra hay and I’m trying to get some probiotics in them, although only one will accept it currently?

we are looking for signs of bloat but can’t tell if one is just a bit chunkier than normal as they’ve put on weight anyway and he isn’t one for being handled.

I would keep a close eye on them and see how they are. If there’s any change at all in their normal behaviour then get them to the vet quickly. Did they actually swallow it or did you find it somewhere nearby? You have to be really careful as they will generally chew literally everything.

I couldn’t see it in the cage so they must have eaten it but they both seemed fine this morning, plenty of poos and eating and running fine. I’ve had to go to work now so hopefully they are okay.

Oh dear LOL. I would avoid putting anything plastic in there. I had one named Noxie who I ultimately had to remove almost all of the plastic she could get to- but the creature still downed a bunch of coroplast before I could stop her.

The boys haven’t touched their coroplast yet and this is the first time they’ve nibbled on the waste bin in the 6 months it’s been near their cage. I think they just smelt the dirty hay in it and got hungry 🤣
I’m currently at work but they are both eating and running around on the piggie cam so I’m thinking we got away with it!

Quick update! One piggie is absolutely fine and as normal :-)
The other is fine, running for snacks, accepting probiotics unlike last night and eating enough hay for a lifetime. His stomach is very slightly harder than the other piggies but he seems fine in himself, so it might just be gas.
Plenty of poos in the cage from the day and it’s been 24 hours, so I’m feeling pretty confident and safe!
Thank you for all your advice and help.
