So Einstein is my wee long haired piggie and he hasn't ate for about 3 days now. He's absolutely fine otherwise but just won't eat his burgess excell pellets :/

Any suggestions? Starting to get slightly worried. Is there a reason?

Is he eating hay and veg? If he isnt then it is an emergency and would need urgent vet visit. If he is eating hay and veg then maybe he's struggling to eat the pellets. You could try mashing them into powder and then add water to make a paste and offer it to him on a spoon.

It could be his teeth and a vet could check this out.

You could also try another brand of pellets as he may have just decided he doesnt like them.

I'll try offer him it on a spoon right now. I shall keep the vets number close by. He's just recently had a check up and his teeth were the best the vet had ever seen! :) thanks :)

Thats good news then maybe hes just gone off them then. I would weigh him daily just to be sure he's not loosing a lot of weight!

Yeah I will do, I've just offered him his normal pellets mushed up in warm water but it's just not happening. He's turning his head away. Seems so strange. I'll weigh him daily as you suggest :)

He may have just gone off his usual brand if the rest of the eating is normal. Mine do it occasionally, especially with the normal Burgess pellets.

Keep weighing him daily at around the same time in the feeding cycle (the daily weight can vary around 30g) to see whether there is a downward trend over the next few days. If his weight is going down steadily, then you will need to see a vet to investigate.

I've just weighed him just now, he's 500g ... I'm so shocked as not long ago (a couple of weeks ago) he was about 850 ish g
My mum is off to get some of the water flavour stuff we have for small pets. He's not been drinking much either..
I'll continue to weigh him daily.

That is an awful lot of weight to lose. How old is your piggy? If they're an adult then 500g is substantially underweight. A 350g weight loss definitely needs to be checked by a vet as soon as possible.

He's 2 ( or so i was told) he came from my friend who could no longer look after him.. she rescued him from a bad breeder :/
I'll persuade my mum into taking him to the vet with me tomorrow

I feel sooo embarrased yet, releived saying this, but my scales had actually broken last night - hence the 500g measurement.
Me and my mum searched on google to see what was wrong with him and we realised that he was depressed so oday I got a wee piggie friend for him! Everything has turned out well because this morning I saw the bowl of food had gone done a bit :)
I will show off a picture of the piggie (still un-named) on my other thread :D
