I have noticed on pebbles that her nails are rather curved. They are nice and short, but where they are curved, its making her toes lay kind of sideways as such. I have noticed the same on my other 2 piggies who both have one foot that has white nails.

Is it something that happens with white nails, or am I doing something wrong? Its just that my other piggies who only have 1 foot of white nails have the same problem with that foot, but their black and brown nails are all straight.

Sorry that this don't make too much sence, I just can't think of any other way to word it!

Piggies nails do tend to curl with age, mine who are 3 both have slightly curled white nails on their front feet (not because they are long i'd like to ad :)) )

The colour question is a good one though?

All 3 of mine are around 7 months old. Its just strange how for example Smudge. She has 2 black feet, 1 brown and 1 white. The black nails seem to grow much slower than the other feet and very straight. The brown grows really fast and again dead straight. The longest I can go without cutting the brown nails is 2 weeks! The white foot the nails growing speed is inbetween but seem to grow more curved whenever I see her!

I don't think it's only white nails, as my pig Linney has all dark nails and they are extremely curvy. It has gotten worse as she has gotten older (she's three now.) We have to trim her nails small amounts very regularly because they seem to want to grow in a corkscrew pattern!

Mine all have different nail issues!

Skunk (2.5yrs) (and Fudge) both have all white nails and the outer two curve inwards, no matter how short I cut them.

Winston's (4yrs) nails are the best - he has one black foot which I rarely have to trim for some reason and when I do, it's a very short snip. His white nails grow long and straight.

I've never had to cut Minipig's (1yr and a bit) nails - they're brown and really short and stubby!

This is interesting, two of my previous piggies had dark nails on their front paws and i was beginning to think they chewed them, they needed clipping so rarely! Light coloured nails do seem to grow much quicker, weird! I have one out of my current 4 who has dark front nails ans yup, teeny tiny! but his back nails are due a clip, getting long, weird!

Back to the original point though, i find that pigs front nails do always curl a bit especially with age, they can sit sideways but it seems completely normal, i've never really known then mot to do this :) As long as they are trimmed suitably and arent curling into the bottom of the paw its fine.
