Lately, me and my best friend have been talking abt a guinea pig play date. She has three piggies. One is a neutered male abt a year old, another’s is a spayed female (I’m not so sure of her age) and the last one is a female piggy abt 5 months old. Would it be a good idea to go on the play date?

No this would not be a good idea.

Guinea pigs do not do playdates. To them each meeting is a full on bonding session - they will try to form a bond and hierarchy between her piggies and your piggies each and every time you do this. You would then have to separate them to take them home. This would cause a huge amount of stress for all the piggies and also has the potential to damage the relationships between her three piggies and between your two - doing so may cause them to fall out so even your own piggies may not want to live together any more

:agr:

Whilst getting them together sounds like fun, for piggies it really isn't.
But if you and your friend want to do something together for your piggies why don't the two of you go out looking for fresh grass or forage, or go and choose some veggies for them at the shop or market.
That way the two of you can enjoy spending time together doing something special for your piggies, and your piggies can enjoy their treats while staying safe and happy in their own homes.

That does sound like a good idea! Thanks! I’m sure the piggies would also like a treat.

Is it still a bad idea to do play dates if both piggies live solo from other pigs and largely cuddle and bond with their people?

Yes it is still a bad idea.

Piggies who are not bonded should not be put together unless you plan on properly bonding them and them then living in the same cage permanently.
(Piggies should always be kept with another so carrying out a bonded should be done provided the two piggies have not had a fall out previously).

The same as my explanation above applies.
Every time you put them together it is seen as a full bonding session to them. It will cause them to try to form a bond and hierarchy which will be abruptly halted every time you separate them. That causes huge amounts of stress.
Piggies should be put together once on neutral territory for bonding, if all goes well at that meeting, then they are never separated again.
