I am new to keeping piggies, and I have read a few books on the them and researched them, but I was wondering if there are any tips on keeping them, you could give me? ;D
Ermm... dont house them with rabbits, make sure they have a big enough cage, fresh hay, veg, pellets and water daily, give them as much exercise outside the cage as possible cant think of much else unless you have a question! x
i think, care, exercise, handling them and taking them to the vets if they are ill (or if you are ever worried about them) are the best tips i could give you! also too make sure they get unlimited hay, pellets and fresh veg everyday weighing them weekly and clipping their nails every 4-6 weeks
The best tip I can give you is....wear ear plugs to bed if thye stay in your bedroom!
Only joking. The best advice I can give is to stick around this forum and ask questions. I've learnt loads here! Also, buy a book by Peter Gurney. I have one and it is my bible. The most important thing though, is to love them and enjoy them. The more time you spend handling them, the more they trust you and bond with you.
Hi, i'd make sure you have a piggie savvy vet real close to you O0 Best get that info real quick cause if you've any questions you can always ask them as well
Good luck awwwwwww let us know when you get you're piggies :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
Afew tips
lots of love and attention
Excercise outside to nibble grass (no excercise balls as they are very bad for them) O0
Fresh veggies and fruit - see the list on the feeding section
Go to the vets if anythings wrong with them
keep them in pairs as they are very sociable creatures 0 and love company - 2 sows are best or a sow and neutered boar - 2 boars can get on well to but may fight
Give them their usual guinea pig food and fresh water every day
avoid vit c drops to as they are useless ;D
