Hi

Our eldest piggie was Zoe who was 7 years old, she'd been badly treated and had no hair on her back.

Over 8yrs of keeping pigs I have lost some as young as 1week old and my oldest girly is 6yrs old but still with us.
Sadly going back nearly 4yrs ago over a 9mth period I lost nearly 30 pigs to gastroentritis, they varied in ages, youngest was 4mths old and the oldest was 4ish. I dreading going in my shed, to check on them in the morning or feed them around 6pm but I found a fantasic vet (6mths after they started dieing) after visiting 3 other rather useless vets, and he did an Autopsy, give my pigs (30ish) meds and only charged £20 for me to see him during his lunch break, what a lovely man he is.

I've only lost one pig, a Sheltie called Cuzzy, still miss him and still cry over him, he was only 5 months. I expect he had brain damage as looking back he did odd things like running around in circles and suddenly turned aggressive on his cage mates, which for a boar is probably not unusual but it was strange how he just turned.

Maybe he was born with a defect or dropped before I got him. My other pigs are all young the oldest being around 9 months and my youngest being around 4 months although I am getting two 2 month old Sows next week. :)

I have three 7 year olds here and several 5 and 6 year olds.

I find piggies tend to start to get serious problems at about 4 and a half, up to that point they are usually fine. Many live to 5 or 6, a few beyond that.

Miss Piggy was 2 years

Parker was 2 1/2 years

Gucci was 5 years

Shakey was 9 months

Meeka who i only lost this weekend was 1 year 4 months

I have 2 girlies who are both 6 years old and still doing fantastic, morgan is still putting weight on! ;D

I have had piggies all my life, these are the last ones i have lost.
Elvis 2 years.
Charlie 20 months.
Rufus 6 years.
T-bone 10 years 4 months.
Olive 3 years.
Rodney 7 years.
