Hi,

Getting sooooo excited...the Ferplast 120cm cage arrives today for indoor winter use.
Just wondering if I should get the stand as well or if it is flimsy? Have read so many mixed reviews. Otherwise it is going on top of two single filing cabinets!

Have chosen two sow piggies, 7 weeks old, picking them up on Wednesday with my two little girls.
Have bowls, water bottle and fiddle stix plus been saving boxes and tubes for them to play in, chew, hide in etc...

was going to make a mezzanine level with secure sides and ramp, but don't know at what age this is safe for them? Hope you can give me some piggie wisdom!?

Many thanks,

Jo x

They should be fine at 7-8 weeks. As long as they are healthy little piggies are fairly robust and bouncy! They would love having zoomies up and down the ramp. I'm more wary with ramps with older piggies as their joints can sometimes be a bit to stiff for them.

I don't know about the stand. But if you have some where for the cage to go I don't think I would bother.

Thank you so much, now I am even more excited....going to find ways of making a ramp and mezzanine x

I have the feraplast 120 cage for my two guinea pigs and also the stand. The stand was a bit pricey and a pain to put the wheels on but it was well worth it.
It makes cleaning the cage much easier and the cage fits nicely on to it with wheels to move it around easily. It also has space underneath so I would definitely recommend!

I've also got the stand, and think it is well worth getting. It's definitely not flimsy. (Make sure you tighten the fastenings really well when putting together!)

When our guineas have floor time, the space underneath the cages makes a nice area for them to run under and feel safe. We keep fleece covering the carpet, and various hidey houses under there more or less permanently.

Are you in the UK? My hubby made a unit exactly the size of the ferplast cage with two kitchen cabinets from b&q and wheels on bottom. Great storage.

Talented, be great to see a photo of this
