Having the piggies indoors in a c&c cage is nice but when you have to keep changing the fleece it can be a pain. But in the middle of that its a bigger pain when your little minx like to find any way possible to get under the fleece and you have to unpeg it to get them out!

I have bull dog clips all the way along the egdes and the fleece on now is big enough to hang over the sides but still they can pull it down and get underneath it. Its a cool trick of theres! NOT!
I have put an extra little flleece in the cage scrumpled up and hanging on one side so its a pretend one for them to get under but they are too clever for that!

Any other suggestions? Short of sticking it down lol

Oh dear, naughty piggies! rolleyes My girls are in a sort of make-do C&C at the moment, but I don't have any correx underneath, so they can't get under the fleece as its under the edges of the cage.
Sorry don't have any suggestions for you. I think its a common problem for piggy owners :)). Maybe someone else has come up with a way to stop them.

I've see posts with other people moaning about this too, i can imagine it would be a pain! It is so annoying having to change the fleece i have to do it everyday, my boars are really messy. All i can suggest is doing a search on here about fleece and see if you can pick up tips from anyone else :)

My girls used to annoy me doing this too but now i have 4 massive clips holding it they don't even bother trying to get under. I hope yours stop doing it as i know how annoying it can be!

One of my girls does this on an almost daily basis. It's a pain in the bum! She sits under the fleece all day and doesn't come out. When we pick her out and remind her that there is a whole massive cage out here with hay and all, she bumbles around and starts going mad over the hay.

We've tried putting small blankets in there - doesn't work. Now we have bulldog clips pretty much the whole way around. It's not ideal. She tugs at it like she's insane sometimes, but it holds her back. We've recently slung a huge bit of fleece over and in her cage. I guess because it's dark and a large expanse she thinks its just as good as the under fleece, because she's stopped her tugging.

The only other thing we have tried in the past is pulling the correx apart and making a larger tray so that the grids fit inside. This only worked for a while. She worked out how to pull it from under the grids! The fleece we had then wasn't quite big enough to hang over all sides, so we couldn't even clip it.

My plan now, as I am doing with the other cages, is to sew it into a tray shape with bits over the side. These bits will then stick on the outside of the correx with velcro. I'm hoping this will be more of a permanent answer.

velcro is a great idea

glad its not just my little minx that is like this, as soon as I put the new fleece in inka is up at the sides seeing where she can get in grrr.

Velcro is a good idea. Thankfully nobody in the Tribe is a burrower anymore, although Taffy was living underneath the fleece for the first two weeks of being with me and only coming out in the middle of the night!

Admire the bumps and lumps that were Taffy and baby Telyn

haha, yes I wanted to get a video of them under it as its quite funny playing the where is the guinea and looking for the moving lumps!
The first thing the kids do when they come in or get up is look to see if the piggies are under!

Amazingly, I don't have this problem but I think it may be because my piggy cage is full of places to hide. In fact, LOL, sometimes it is quite difficult to find my piggies and they are sooo good at being quiet when they are hiding.

So, what I am trying to say in a round about way is: distract them with loads of other places to hide like you would do with little (human) kids.

yeah they do have the extra fleece hanging over and the ramp to hide under and also their bridge house, there isnt really many places to put anything else.

my boys Del and Rodney do this,it drives me mad!at the moment it looks like ive had them pignapped as i have an empty cage but two lumps under the fleece!how about using 2 pieces of fleece-so that when they burrow they only burrow under one!I'm not saying it`ll work but I'm going to try that today

this may sound silly but I'm worried mine will suffocate under the fleece as they seem to wrap it under them!how likely is this or do they know whats safe

My Ginny basically lived under her fleece for a whole month! I don't think they could suffocate under there. She just loved it because she was so warm! It didn't seem to matter how many 'hidey' places we put in, she still preferred the fleece :(
